Description: Lawton S. Parker, Oil Painting on Paper Board
Depicting a figure walking around a lake with houses on the far side of lake and trees. Lawton Silas Parker (1868-1954), Illinois/France, was known for figure/nude, portrait and landscape paintings. Mr. Parker lived a short distance from Claude Monet and was considered on of his students by many, as Monet's influence is reflected in his works. His impressionist style became one of the early trademark proponents of the impressionist school in the U.S. This piece provenance is the R.H. Love Galleries, Chicago (also the gallery responsible for the catalog resource of Lawton Silas Parker). This painting bears the catalog stamp and Love label en verso. Framed handsomely in a new wood arts & crafts style gold leaf frame, 7.75" H x 10" W, sight, 14" H x 16.25" W, framed.
